Sydney Burrus, Esq.

Sydney Burrus, Esq.

Sydney Burrus, Esq. is an associate here at Elliot Ifraimoff & Associates, P.C. She joined the firm shortly after graduating, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School. During her time obtaining her Juris Doctor degree she was involved in organizations such as the Criminal Law Society, the Black Law Students Association, and the Domestic Violence Clinic. Sydney also joined the Pro-Bono Family Law Project where she volunteered at D.C. Superior Court helping those who could not afford attorneys fill out forms and submit court pleadings. This led to her graduating with a certificate in family law. Her interest in Personal Injury law overlapped with her interest in Family Law when she, as a law student, clerked at a big firm in D.C. that handled civil defense litigation matters. It peaked her interest, leading her to want to eventually work as a plaintiff’s attorney.

Prior to attending GW Law School, Sydney graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Spelman College, where she majored in Political Science and maintained a spot on the Dean’s List all 8 semesters. Getting good grades and being a great student was instilled in her by her parents and was also the motivation behind getting accepted into a top law school program. For Sydney, being a lawyer is not just a profession; it’s a true passion, especially when it comes to looking out for her clients’ well-being.
