Thomas G. Bernard is a cum laude graduate from New York University, completing NYU’s 4 year requirements in just 3 years. At NYU, Mr. Bernard was a consistent Dean’s List member and a recipient of NYU’s Founders’ Day Award. Besides these local achievements, Mr. Bernard was also recognized by, and inducted into, the Alpha Sigma Lambda national honors society.

While at NYU, Mr. Bernard dedicated part of his time as an ombudsman in the child welfare division at the New York’s Public Advocate’s office. For the Public Advocate, Mr. Bernard investigated claims against foster parents on behalf of children and helped many families navigate New York’s child welfare system. He took great pride in this endeavor as he helped give a voice to those who many times go unheard.

After graduating NYU, Mr. Bernard received his Juris Doctorate from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.  Mr. Bernard is currently licensed to practice law in the State of New York in both local and federal courts.  As an attorney, Mr. Bernard’s emphasis is on tort litigation including automobile, premises and construction accident type cases. Mr. Bernard is also a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Bernard had a distinguished career in the music business as a recording engineer for varied and well-known artists. With these prior experiences, Mr. Bernard brings a creative approach to problem solving as well as a focused analytical approach to the law. Finally, Mr. Bernard’s passion is helping those who have been injured due to someone else’s negligence get the compensation they deserve.
